The Hybrid manages to get 27 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. It offers a roomy interior and it is well equipped. This year, the Japanese automaker redesigned its Highlander Hybrid. The vehicle now offers a roomier interior and a more attractive exterior. The hybrid also offers a great amount of safety features and a bunch of entertainment, such as the stereo with MP3 capabilities. The SUV averages 27 mpg on city streets and 25 mpg on the interstate. The Chevy Tahoe captures the fifth position on our list. Although not the “greenest”, the Tahoe Hybrid received the title of “Green Car of the Year" at the LA Auto Show. The Tahoe offers a six-liter V8 gasoline engine that boasts a whopping 332 hp and a 60-kilowatt electric motor that helps in achieving a high mileage.
